iPhone And Gmail in Safari

This is just a typing test to see how well I can type in Safari
Gmail. Hmm, pretty fast. The sideways keyboard makes all the
difference. Odd that I can get more done using m.gmail.com in Safari
than using the built in iPhone mail app.

Well, I shouldn't have spoken so fast, without arrow keys it's very
hard to navigate a large chunk of text in the provided text box. Once
the text pushes below the bottom of the box you can't get to it.
iPhone wants you to scroll using your finger but since there are no
scroll bars it can't distinguish between the entire window and the
text box. Even the magnifying glass won't let you drag to text hidden
at the bottom of the box. The work around that I came up with is to
place the cursor at the end of the line and hit return, then hit
delete. Unfortunately you have to do that for every line.

WHOA, I WAS WRONG. You can use the magnifying glass to scroll. Just
hold it at the edge for a moment.

I should probably delete that paragraph about not being able to scroll,
but I can't find a way to select it. I suppose I could delete one
character at a time, it what a pain.

I just tried dragging the magnifying glass with the shift key on but no dice.

Well, the one thing I want from Google; a wider text box in m.gmail.com

And, from Apple; select text, copy, cut, and paste. Those concepts are
just too fundamental to eliminate at this point.

So much for Gmail in Safari as an alternative.

Place 2 fingers in the box that you want to scroll and push up or down. The box will scroll for you.
